Michael B. Phillips, 76, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, September 20, 2021.
He was born on May 22, 1945 in San Francisco, California to the late Clarence and Alicia (Tandy) Phillips. Michael was an active member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church for over 40 years. He was a graduate of Jacksonville University and was a sales executive for over 35 years, working for Maxwell House/Phillip Morris/Kraft. He enjoyed traveling and was able to see a majority of the National Parks. Michael loved U of L sports and the Washington Redskins, he also was an avid golfer. He served on the board at Cedar Lake Lodge for several years.
Michael is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Carolyn A. Phillips; daughter, Liz Kipp (Joe); son, Matt Phillips (Amanda); grandchildren, David Kipp, Jackson Phillips, Alicia Kipp, and Avery Phillips; sister, Kathleen Crosby (Dr. Jerry Crosby) of Georgetown, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Newcomer Cremation, Funerals & Receptions-East Louisville Chapel, (235 Juneau Dr.). His Memorial Service will follow at 5:30 pm on Sunday at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church (9212 Taylorsville Road).
The family requests that contributions in Michael's memory be made to Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 9212 Taylorsville Road, Jeffersontown, KY 40299.
