Michael "Mike" James

Michael "Mike" James, 78, of Louisville, KY, formerly of Bethlehem, CT, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025.

He was born on May 23, 1947 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to the late Joseph and Louise (Howard) James. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Toni James and brother-in-law, Finn Ryssdal.

Mike was an excellent skier and avid reader. He loved music-many kinds. He was a loyal friend. He was interested in people and always remembered someone’s name. He was proud and supportive of his children. He was kind and generous and made everyone he came into contact with feel better.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Elise Barbour, children, Aaron James (Ashley Grant), Lauren Kuring (Cassandra), stepson Aaron Barbour, grandson, Victor Kuring, sister, Anne Ryssdal, sister-in-law, Dana Schlich (Rudy) and brother-in-law, Bruce Barbour (Beth).

Per Mike's wishes cremation was chosen and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The family requests that contributions in Mike’s memory be made to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
