Michael Douglas McKinstry, 74, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021. He was the owner of One Hour Package Express for over 30 years. Michael possessed a hard-work ethic and had also been an employee for Coca-Cola and Yellow Cab. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Air Force and was a Kentucky Colonel. In his spare time, Michael enjoyed listening to Rock and Classic Rock.
He was born on July 21, 1946, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Imogene (Doss) McKinstry and the late Henry McKinstry. In addition to his father, Michael was preceded in death by his sister, Roslyn McKinstry.
Along with his mother, Michael is survived by his wife, Alice (Shuping) McKinstry; son, David McKinstry; niece, Wynnde Calloway (William); nephew, Jason McKinstry; great-nieces, Emma, Ava, and Keira Calloway; and stepdaughter, Angela Hensel.
Cremation was chosen, and a reception of family and friends will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with a memorial service taking place at 1:30 p.m. Burial with military honors will follow at New Albany National Cemetery.
