Michael "Big Mike" Mccoy

Michael "Big Mike" McCoy, 44, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, June 21, 2021. Big Mike was the owner and operator of McCoy Security and Founder of Derby City Cardinals Youth League. Mike fought a long battle and lived life to the fullest and never let anything hold him back. Mike was a true inspiration to many and loved his boys, wife, grandchildren and family deeply.

He was born on April 23, 1977 in Louisville, Kentucky to Dennis and Lynda (Thompson) McCoy.

Michael is survived by his loving Wife of 17 years, Shannon M. Hatfield'McCoy; father, Dennis McCoy and mother, Lynda McCoy; sons, Kris J. (Tasha) Hatfield, Derrick A. McCoy, Shane M. McCoy, and Trey A. (Faith) McCoy; grandchildren, Adrian Hatfield, Audrey Hatfield, and Karter McCoy; brother, Jr. (Kelley) Brooks; sibling, Marc McCoy; grandparents, Shirley Rucker and Fred (Jean) McCoy; mother-in-law, Brenda Phelps and mother-in-law, Marsha (Damon) Sutton. As well as a host of nieces, brothers, sisters, and his Derby City Cardinals Family to cherish his loving memory forever.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, June 28, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Celebration of Life Service will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Bethany Memorial Cemetery.
