Michael Royce Mayes

Michael Royce Mayes, 65, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Monday, October 17, 2016 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born in Flat Creek, West Virginia on July 6, 1951 to the late James Carl and Evelyn Mayes. He was retired from LG&E and Baker and Bohnert. He was of the Baptist faith and loved to play the guitar and sing at his church. His grandchildren were the light of his life.

Michael is survived by three children, Angela Mayes, Dale Mayes and Jaime Mayes Miller; soul mate, Bonnie Mayes; grandchildren, Daniel Mayes, Devin Mayes, Damian Mayes, Anthony Mayes, Skyler Miller, Jaiden Blankenship, Serenity Blankenship, Nathaniel Raisor and Wesley Blankenship; three great-grandchildren, Bradlee Mayes, Claire Mayes and Haidyn Mayes; siblings, Jerry Mayes, Brenda (Paul) Shoptaw, James Randal (Rosemary) Mayes, Sandra (Ralph) English, Carolyn Bratcher, Janet (Michael) Henley, Darrell (Martha) Mayes, Carol Mayes and Jimmy Mayes; and a host of other family members and friends.

A service to celebrate his life will be conducted Friday, October 21, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Louisville Chapel. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
