Michael Odie Marsh, 72, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. A loving and devoted father, brother, and affectionately known as “Granddaddy Hustle Man” to his beloved grandchildren. Michael brought joy, strength, and authenticity to everyone around him. He will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing and loving him.
Michael was born on January 28, 1954, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Amos and Mattie Lillie (Burdette) Marsh. He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos Marsh and Mattie Lillie Marsh; his brothers, Wallace Benjamin “WB” Marsh, Willie Marsh, and Amos “Boone” Marsh; and his sister, Jessie Lee “Tainy” Marsh.
Known as “Mike” to many in the softball and baseball community, he was truly an OG in the game. A talented player in his prime, Michael’s love for the sport extended far beyond his playing years. In recognition of his skill and impact, he was inducted into the Central High School Hall of Fame in 2007 for his outstanding achievements in baseball. He remained deeply involved in the game for decades, serving as a trusted scorekeeper and fixture on the sidelines for numerous teams across recreational, competitive, and senior leagues. His impact could be felt across teams such as the Jabalis, Louisville Stars, Team Iowa/Chubby Boys, Five-O, CBT, OGs, and most recently, the Bomani teams—just to name a few. As many may know he loved the LA Lakers and was usually dressed head to toe in his purple and gold or black and gold for his Central Yellowjackets.
Michael took pride in doing things the right way. Those who played on his teams knew he didn’t play about the details—whether it was how the game was recorded or how things were run. His dedication, consistency, and no-nonsense approach earned him both respect and admiration. Off the field, he enjoyed traveling with his favorite teams and attending Central basketball games, always showing up to support and be part of the community he loved.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving children, Michael D. (Radawn) Marsh, Adrianne Marsh, and LaKeshia (MaKeya Malone) Felton; his brother, Jerry Marsh; his sisters, Cheryl Douglas and Connie Marsh; and his cherished grandchildren, Michael D. Marsh, Jr., Taylor Marsh, Maliah Marsh, and Kevin Graham Jr. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will continue to honor his life and legacy.
