Michael Kevin Knight

Michael Kevin Knight, 65, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025. Born on November 25, 1959, in New Albany, Indiana, he was the son of the late Millard and Catherine (Conklin) Knight. Mike grew up in a family that instilled strong values, leading him to pursue his passions with determination.

He graduated from Clarksville High School in 1978, where he not only showcased his athletic abilities as a talented basketball player but also excelled in track. His dedication to sports remained a lifelong interest, as he collected baseball cards and enjoyed watching various types of games.

Professionally, Mike was well-respected in his community as the owner of Highland Automotive in Floyds Knobs, Indiana. His commitment to his work reflected his strong work ethic and his desire to serve those around him. Alongside his career, Mike devoted the last decade of his mother’s life to ensuring she received the comfort and care she needed, illustrating his deep commitment to family.

Mike is survived by his daughter, Mackenzie Hobgood (Josh); his siblings, Rhonda Knight, Rita Chism, and Stephen Knight (Linda); as well as several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, located at 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Mathers Chapel in English, Indiana.
