Michael James Keithley

Michael J. Keithley, 63, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2018. Michael was a true lover of life. He embraced all of life's blessings – his family, his friends, his family home, and all the beauty of God's Earth. He was an artist in every sense of the word. Singer, songwriter, sculptor, and a mighty fine body man, with the ability to make all around him feel safe, secure, and loved as he loved with all of his heart. He leaves us the gift of his art and music, as well as so many precious memories. Michael was always true to himself. He was sincere and honest. He stayed true to the morals and values his parents had instilled in him. He had a life well lived and a true love for our Lord and Savior. Michael filled our lives with love and laughter and will always be an inspiration to all that knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Carol (Sowders) Keithley; children, Crissy Bolinger, Sakya Schuler (Ryan), Dustin Suddeth, and Jazmin Hendricks; mother, Bonnie (Banet) Keithley; siblings, Patty Ritchie (Bill), Doug Keithley (Jackie), Howdy Keithley (Cherie), and Kenny Keithley (Lisa); grandchildren, Kyle, Brock, Beckett, and Lilly; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and too many cousins and friends to name. Michael is preceded in death by his father, Charles J. Keithley.

A Memorial Gathering will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Edwardsville United Methodist Church (4830 State Road 62, Georgetown, Indiana) followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m. at the church. Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana) is in charge of the arrangements.
