Strapp, Michael Jay "Mike", 57, of Goshen, Kentucky passed away on August 7, 2016.
Mike was born in Columbus, Ohio and was a proud graduate of Thomas Worthington High School in Columbus, The Ohio State University and the Masters in Teaching program of the University of Louisville. He was the nicest guy you'll ever know, and his easy-going manner hid his passion for helping others. He devotedly helped students as a teacher at Trimble County Middle School and as a substitute teacher in the Oldham County schools. He cheerfully helped travelers and associates in his much-loved job at Southwest Airlines, where his work was recognized as Employee of the Year and with many "Kick-tail" awards. He lovingly helped his family and friends.
Mike is survived by his wife, Nancy Herrold Strapp; children, Sandy Strapp, Sarah Strapp Dennison (Philip Dennison); mother, Karol Strapp of Marysville, Ohio; sisters, Debbie of Bloomfield Hills, MI, Judy Ledford and Amy Strapp of Columbus, Ohio and their partners; and many nieces and nephews, for whom he happily convened "Camp Uncle Mike".
Mike's spirit has been welcomed to the place God prepared for him from the beginning of time. The family will welcome visitors on Friday, August 12, 2016 from 2 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the Belknap Events Center (12414 US Hwy 42, Goshen, KY 40026). A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Iroquois Presbyterian Church (970 Palatka Rd, Louisville, KY 40214). Please help Mike's life continue to "pay it forward" with gifts in Mike's memory to the church or charity that is the most meaningful to you.
