Michael Raymond Herhold

Michael Raymond Herhold, 71, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026. Mike was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He had a mischievous sense of humor, enjoyed driving his classic Impala, and never missed a Bears game. His greatest joy was spending time with his beloved eight grandchildren during countless sports activities, cookouts and holidays.

He was born December 20, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Raymond and Lillian Herhold.

Mike was preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Carol Herhold; and survived by children, Michelle (Charles) Daniel, Laurie (Robert) Swoboda and Steven (Laura) Herhold; grandchildren, Charles Daniel, Griffin Daniel, Alexander Daniel, Regan Swoboda, Peyton Swoboda, Vanessa Herhold, Courtney Herhold and Rebecca Herhold.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, 40243). His funeral service and mass will be at 10:00 am on Friday, January 16, 2026 at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Parish (5503 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40291) with internment to follow at Calvary Cemetery (1600 Newburg Road, Louisville, KY 40205).
