Michael Leslie Hagan

Michael "Mike" Leslie Hagan, born on February 12, 1943, passed away on January 2, 2025. He lived a life characterized by kindness, and a profound commitment to his family and community. Michael proudly served in the United States Air Force, demonstrating a deep sense of duty and patriotism that he carried throughout his life. Mike was a member of Southeast Christian Church.

In his professional journey, Mike retired from MSD, where his contributions were greatly valued. He dedicated much of his time volunteering with the Okolona Fire Department and was a certified EMT, showing his unwavering commitment to helping others and ensuring the safety of those around him.

Mike was a man of many talents and interests. He delighted in crafting walking sticks, canes, and jewelry, showcasing his creative spirit. Fishing was not just a hobby for him; it was a passion. He cherished the moments spent on the water and took great joy in organizing an annual fishing trip for the children of Brooklawn, fondly sharing his love for the outdoors with young ones who looked up to him.

His warm personality was underscored by his knack for humor. Mike had an uncanny ability to make people smile with his jokes, a gift that not only brightened the days of those around him but also brought him immense joy. He also had a great love for all animals. 

Above all, Mike was an exceptional father, and his children were his pride and joy. He cherished every moment spent with them, knowing they were the most significant achievement of his life.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Hagan; brothers, Robert "Bobby" Pennington and Larry Hagan; sisters, Mary Linda Hagan Graf and Janet L. Hagan King.

Mike leaves to cherish is his memories, his children, Audette Johnson, Michael Scott Hagan; step-daughter, Elizabeth (David) Hunter; grandchildren, Rita Johnson, Joshua Hunter and Mark Hunter; siblings, Karen L. (Leland) Keeling, Margo L. Hagan Graf, Alan (Amanda) Lyons, Susan Lyons and Patricia Lyons McCann and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Mike's life. A visitation will take place on January 14, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a celebration of Mike's beginning at 6:00 PM, both held at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272.

Michael Leslie Hagan leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and service, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
