Michael William Foster

Michael William Foster, 74, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021. He was a loving husband and brother, good neighbor, and supportive friend to many. Michael was a 1965 graduate of New Albany High School, a United States Navy Vietnam War veteran, and retiree from Gallagher Station (Duke Energy) in 2001. He loved collecting pottery, fishing, raising bees, making wine, and sitting by the fireplace with his dog, Sadie. Michael was a member of VFW Post 1693 and the Pottery Lovers Association.

He was born on July 19, 1946, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Gerald and Theresa (Flynn) Foster. Michael is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Barbara (Von Allmen) Foster; siblings, Anna Foster, Mark Foster, Sr. (Mary), and Martina Foster; nephew, Mark Foster, Jr. (Dawn); niece, Janette Grim (Gary); and great-niece and nephew, Jessica and Mark Foster III.

Michael's wish was to be cremated, and Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions was entrusted with his care. Contributions in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN 38105).
