Michael Todd Evans, born on June 23, 1964, in Louisville, Kentucky, departed this earth surrounded by his loving family and friends on August 14, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy of joy, laughter, and a profound devotion to those he loved.
Mike was a graduate of Iroquois High School. He worked as a Courier for Zip Express.
Mike was easy-going and had the ability to light up a room. Mike's personality shone brightly; he was always ready with a joke to make those around him laugh. He was caring and selfless, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a funny story. His unwavering love for his children and grandchildren was evident to all; his commitment to their happiness was a true reflection of the father and grandfather he was.
He was a huge Kansas City Chiefs fan and wore the jersey proudly. He was an avid horse racing fan, as well as playing in his fantasy football leagues.
Mike is survived by a loving family that includes his son Cody Homeister (Nichole) and his treasured grandchildren: Tanner, Hawk, and Kinley. He is also survived by his sister Sharon Bowling and her husband Paul, along with his cherished nephews Chad (Jessica) and Trevor (Leah), as well as niece Tara (Cody). Also here to carry on his memory are his best friend and "brother" Tony Roberts and his wife Jean, as well as their children, Michael, Alyssa, Melanie, and Rebecca, who all held a special place in his heart. Additionally, he leaves behind Tanner's mom, Meghan Stivers.
Mike is preceded in death by his son Joseph Michael Homeister; his parents, Robert and Rita Evans; and his aunt Dolores Hamilton. Their memories live on, providing solace in the hearts of his family.
As we gather to celebrate Mike's remarkable life, visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville on August 25, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by a heartfelt celebration of life at 6:00 PM. It will be a time to honor a man who truly knew the essence of care, laughter, and what it meant to be present for others.
Mike may no longer walk among us, but his spirit will eternally resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know and love him. His legacy, of joy, kindness and love, will continue to inspire generations to come.
