Michael Durham passed away on June 2, 2026. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Mike spent most of his life in Louisville, Kentucky, the city he always considered home. Later in life, he enjoyed ten years in Cape Coral, Florida, where he embraced the sunshine, beaches, and laid-back coastal lifestyle. In 2024, Mike returned to Louisville to be closer to family.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Cloyd and Marie Durham.
Mike is survived by his three children, Michelle, Michael, and Abby, their mother, Linda Durham; his grandchildren, Jazlyn and Jael; and his great-granddaughter, Clarke.
Mike was known for his strong personality, unwavering opinions, and willingness to say exactly what was on his mind. He never shied away from a spirited conversation and wasn't afraid to tell you what he thought. Beneath his tough exterior was a man who cared deeply for his family.
An entrepreneur at heart, Mike loved a good challenge. Whether he was pursuing a business idea, sitting down at a poker table, or debating a topic he felt strongly about, he approached life with passion and conviction. Poker was one of his favorite pastimes, and he enjoyed not only the strategy of the game but also the friendships and stories that came with it. Especially the friendships he developed at St Barthomelew the last two years.
Mike also loved to travel and rarely passed up an opportunity to go on a cruise. He often joked, "It's cheaper to cruise for a week than it is to stay at home." Whether the forecast called for sunshine, rain, or snow, friends and family could almost always count on finding him in one of his many Hawaiian shirts.
Mike will be remembered for his independence, determination, quick wit, and the countless conversations, stories, and memories he shared with those around him. His presence was impossible to ignore, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
Services for Mike will be held Monday June 15th, 2026, at Newcomer East Louisville Chappel, 235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243. Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, with services to follow.
Mike lived life his own way, and those who knew him wouldn't have expected anything less. He will be missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
