Michael Terry Dean

Michael Terry Dean, 76, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on July 16, 2026. He was born in Madison, Indiana on March 5, 1950.

Mike served his country honorably during the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Army, and his sense of duty and commitment were hallmarks of his character throughout his life. After his military service, Michael joined the railroad industry, dedicating three decades to Conrail Railroad and the Louisville & Indiana Railroad. Mike had a love of games, especially Euchre and Backgammon. Those who gathered around his game table remember a man whose "Play Me!" could turn a simple evening into a cherished memory. He was a devoted fan of IU basketball and followed the Kansas City Chiefs with great enthusiasm. Mike was also an avid photographer who created many memorable collages.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene (Elsie) Utz and Grace (Ben) Dean; and his daughter, Stacey Guenther.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Beth Slider Dean; and daughter, Trina (Vernon) Turner.

Mike Dean will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who had the pleasure to know him.

A Memorial Gathering will be from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, at the funeral home. Cremation was chosen following Mike's wishes.
