Michael Lee Ashley

Michael Lee Ashley, 73, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025. Michael was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, Papaw and friend. He was a Mason for over 50 years serving as a Past Master twice and a Kosair Shriner for more than 25 five years. Michael had a special bond with his Masonic brothers and cherished his Sunset Lodge family. Most importantly, Michael adored his family and was Bonnie's absolute best friend. Michael will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

He was born on September 27, 1951 in Louisville, Kentucky to Henry and Beryl "Joyce" (Rigby) Ashley. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Wanda (Ronald) Walter and his brother, Donald Ashley.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie Ashley; daughters, Emily Ashley, Sara Ashley; step-sons, John Hightower, Michael (Melissa) Hightower; step-daughter, Stephanie (Matt) Ballard; brothers, Wayne (Anna) Ashley, Steve (Tiffany) Ashley; sister-in-law, Vicki Ashley; as well as a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.

The family requests that contributions in Michael’s memory be made to Sunset Lodge #915 at 221 Steedly Drive.
