Merlene "Sue" Coddington, age 76 of Louisville, passed away Friday, February 28, 2020. Sue was surrounded by her family when she entered into rest.
Sue was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was the keystone to a huge loving family. Sue cared more about being at everything that involved family than anything in the world - whether it be a birthday, family vacation or just watching a grandchild play ball...she would not have missed it for the world. She will forever be present in our hearts. We all love you and miss you. Sue is preceded in death by her mother and father, Merle and Nita Vance.
Sue is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, John Coddington; daughters, Tammi Bolin-Johnson (Paul) and Kelli Baker; 4 grandchildren, Ricky Bolin (Ginni), John Bolin (April), Anna Baker and Samantha Lawson (TJ); 8 great-grandchildren, Gavin, Grayson, Dexter, Audrey, Evie, Trey, Xavier and Tucker. Sue is also survived by her sister, Beverly Higgins (Robert); and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 pm on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243 (in Middletown) and from 9:30am until time of celebration at 11am on Thursday, March 5, 2020 there. Burial will follow at Mt. Holly Cemetery in Fairdale, Kentucky.
The family would like to acknowledge Dr. Sigdel and the nursing staff at Norton Hospital, especially Asa and Richard.
