Merle Lynn Malluzzo Sr., aged 78, of Louisville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 1, 2024
He was born on February 24, 1946, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Carmelo Malluzzo and Edith Louise Barfield. Merle was a loving husband to his wife Ruth Donahue and a devoted father to his children Stephanie Malluzzo, Merle (Rhonda) Malluzzo Jr., and Jennifer Hayes (Thomas). He was a cherished brother to Paula (Wayne) Bouvier, Pam Cox and his late brother, Mike Barfield.
In addition to his immediate family, Merle leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness with his grandchildren Amanda, Cory (Kristen), Ashley, Christopher, Kevin, Chase (Ashley), and Jordan. He will be dearly missed by his nieces and nephews Renee, Chris (Cindy), Bryan (Mary Kay), Aaron and Michael Scott, as well as numerous great-grandchildren and his sister in-law, Susan Barfield. Merle also had a special place in the hearts of many aunts, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Merle was an Army Veteran and later dedicated years of service at Safelite Auto as a Delivery Driver before retiring. During his leisure time, he found joy in listening to music, riding his motorcycle in the open air, tending to his animals with care, savoring Coca Cola beverages, and watching Western Movies. His warm, affectionate personality and ability to always make someone laugh will forever be cherished by those who knew him.
A Memorial Service to honor Merle's life will be held at 5:00 pm on Friday, August 16th at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel. The family will be receiving guests starting at 4:00 p.m. on Friday for those who wish to pay their respects.
