Merle Lucille (James) Gray

Merle Lucille (James) Gray, 88, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017.

She was born on February 26, 1929, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Frank and Beatrice (Caffee) James. Merle was also recently preceded in death by her husband, Donald Gray; children, Elizabeth "Sue" Lynch and Charles Grider, Sr.; and sister, Margaret Barnes.

Merle is survived by her stepson, Ronnie Grider; grandsons, Doug Durham (Robin), Luther Durham, and Charles Grider, Jr.; four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with her Funeral Service taking place at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Forest Grove Cemetery in Borden, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Merle's memory may be made to the Salvation Army (2300 Green Valley Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150).
