Melvin Curtis Ross Sr.

Melvin Curtis Ross Sr. "Shorty", 87, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Melvin was a loving husband, father, papaw, brother, and friend. His life long career was the best mechanic around. He was all about his wife and family. He was married to the love of his life for 67 years. With all the struggles life threw at him he always had a smile on his face for family and friends. Melvin will truly be missed by anyone and everyone who had the honor of knowing him.

He was born on August 12, 1934 in Louisville, Kentucky to George and Ona (Wattenburg) Ross. He is preceded in death by his Father, George Ross and Mother, Ona Ross.

Melvin is survived by his loving Wife of 67 years, Jessie D Ross; Children, Melvin C. (Cheryl) Ross, Jr., Debbie (Tommy) Wallace, Donna (Joe) Kelty, and Becky (Ricky) Hale; 8 Grandchildren; 13 Great-grandchildren; 1 Great-great-grandchild; Sister-In-Law, Dorothy (Harold) Jacobs as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 10:30 am on Thursday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West in Louisville, Kentucky.
