Melissa Smith

Melissa Anne Smith, 34, of Louisville passed away on January 7, 2015. Melissa was born on March 23, 1980, in Louisville, the daughter of Tommy Glass and Darlene Smith. She graduated from Iroquois High School in 1998 before obtaining a nursing degree from Spencerian College. Melissa worked as a nurse at several nursing homes in Louisville, most recently Episcopal Church Home. She was a sports fan, especially UK Wildcat basketball, and an animal lover.

Melissa is survived by 3 sons, Cody Glass, Jordan Smith, and Tristan Smith; mother and step-father, Darlene and David Smith; father and step-mother, Tommy and Karen Glass; sister, Shannon Marie Glass; and her beloved dog, Sierra Rae Smith.

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home - Southwest Chapel (10304 Dixie Hwy) with funeral service immediately following at 3:00pm.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kentucky Humane Society.
