Listen to Obituary

Melinda Kay Lindsey, aged 63, of Brandenburg, Kentucky, gently left this world on Friday, August 21, 2026. A true beacon of love and compassion, Melinda was known for her adoration of animals, her passion for music, and the joy she found in BINGO. Her heart belonged to the ocean, but even more so to her cherished grandchildren. Melinda was a sweet, sassy soul whose heart of gold left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Born on February 4, 1963, in Louisville, Kentucky, she was the beloved daughter of William Cantrell and Patricia Shacklette. She is now reunited with those who preceded her in passing: her father, William Cantrell; her mother, Patricia Ann Clark; her devoted husband of 38 years, David Lee Lindsey; her brother, Greg Cantrell; and her son-in-law, David Raley.

Melinda leaves behind a loving family who will carry her memory forward. Her children, Tabitha Raley (Clay Stasel), Thomas Hildreth, Jessica (Eric) King, and James Lindsey, along with her precious grandchildren, Elijah Raley, Emily (Trinity) Holland, Emma Hildreth, and Harrison King, and great-grandchildren Heidi and Harper Raley, will forever cherish her spirit. Her sisters, Deborah (Fred) Grunewald, Teresa (Chris) Prober, and Sharon (Ron) Hildreth, alongside numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends, will continue to hold her dear in their hearts.

Family and friends are invited to gather in her honor during the visitation from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 6:00 pm.
