Melba Ruth (Beachum) Brown, 81, Fisherville, KY passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020.

She was born on January 18, 1938 in Obion County near Hornbeak, Tennessee to the late Ahmed and Iva (Ransom) Beachum. She was also preceded in death by her sister-in-law Judy Beachum.

Melba was a graduate of Woodland Mills High School and Gradwahl in St. Louis MO. She was employed as a medical technologist for 32 years.

She is survived by her children Rebecca Tennill (Keith), Jay Brown (Lisa), Lisa Skanes (Scott), Christopher Brown, Wendy Waits (Danny), Tracy Knopp (Richmond), numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and brother Gerald Beachum.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 10, 2020 from 2:00 pm until the time of the funeral service at 4:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243). Graveside services will be private at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery (512 Antioch Church Rd, Hornbeak, TN 38232).

The family requests that contributions in Melba's memory be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
