McKinley "Bud" Rowan, 56, of Louisville, passed away December 27, 2016. Bud was born in Louisville on March 6, 1960. He was the youngest of seventeen children born to Morris M. Rowan and Mary E. (Watts) Rowan.
Bud graduated from Stuart High School. He worked at UPS while attending Lincoln Institute in Indianapolis, IN where he obtained a certificate in mechanics for servicing heavy road equipment. He worked as a mechanic and a construction worker for various companies in Louisville and surrounding areas. Bud was a kind, meek and humble soul and it often showed in his drawings. He was an amateur artist.
Bud never married and had no children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Mary Rowan; siblings, Mittie Larue Alexander, Charles Eli, Jerome Cecil, Ronald Eugene, Charles Lee, Morris Eli and a sister who died at birth. He leaves to mourn his death siblings, Kenneth Thomas, William Glen, Theodore R. "Teddy", Josephine K. Young, Ida Mae Roberts, Alma F. Williams, Pearl Ruth Alexander, Gale V. Crocker and Jessie Mae Marshburn; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins and many, many friends.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272) with burial following at Mill Creek Cemetery on Johnsontown Road. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.
