Maxine Geneva (Jones) Spurgeon, 81, of Corydon, Indiana, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2019. Maxine was a member of the Hursttown United Methodist Church and loved to crochet, watch the animals on the Allen farm, do ceramics crafts, complete puzzles, and do needlepoint.

She was born on September 21, 1937, in Palmyra, Indiana, to the late Samuel and Della Jones. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Orville James Spurgeon; 1 great-grandchild; and 11 of her siblings.

Maxine is survived by her loving children, Jackie (Mike) McCarty, James Spurgeon, Linda (Michael) Allen, and Vickie (Jim) Sadler; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Lucille Martin; and several extended family members.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2019, at Hursttown United Methodist Church (658 Sky Aire Rd NE, Corydon, IN 47112). Her Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the church with burial following at Palmyra Cemetery.

The family requests that contributions in Maxine's memory be made to the Hursttown United Methodist Church.
