Maxie T. "Max" Brown, 73, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on January 3, 2017. Max was raised in Brooks, KY where he later met his wife of 55 years, Janette. He and Janette moved to Louisville where he worked at Brown and Williamson Tobacco as a maintenance mechanic. He then owned Stotty's Tavern and later his own maintenance service. He was also employed at St. Xavier High School for several years. Max was a talented mechanic, builder, and carpenter. He held certifications as a plumber, electrician, and in HVAC. Maxie also served as an aircraft mechanic in the U.S. Air Force.
Max was born on September 5, 1943, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Stanley and Opal (Crain) Brown.
Max is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janette Marie (Leake) Brown; sons, Jamie (Stephanie) Brown and Damon (Jennifer) Brown; step-grandchildren, Taylor, Rylee, and Kade; brother, Stanley Brown; and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY 40272). His Memorial Service will follow visitation at 4:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
