Maurice Doyle Hicks

Maurice Doyle Hicks, 64, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021. Maurice enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a skilled craftsman who had a passion for leatherworking and knifemaking. Maurice was always the one to call when your car needed to be fixed, and he will be remembered for his great storytelling.

He was born on August 24, 1957, in Martin, Kentucky. He is preceded in death by his father, Hubert Hicks; and sisters, Dana Caudill and Rosemary McDaniel.

Maurice is survived by his wife, Denise Hicks; mother, Avanell (Fugate) Hicks; son, Mike (Amanda) BeMiller; son, Erik BeMiller; daughter, Melissa (Rich) Wayne; sister, Nora Hicks; sister, Deborah Hicks; sister, Iris (Gene) Pettit; grandchildren, Sebastian, Erik, Isaiah, Christian, Nathan, Jenna, and Emily; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany).
