Matthew Walker Jones

Matthew Walker Jones, 27, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021. Matthew was a talented chef. His heart for others was shown through the charity he started called Blessings for Blessings that he used to help families in need. In high school, Matthew found a brotherhood with his teammates on the football team at New Albany High School. His love for sports carried on for the rest of his life as he was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Louisville Cardinals fan.

Matthew is survived by his parents, Barry and Tina Jones; wife, Laken (Lawless) Jones; son, Blaine Jones and his mother, Mallory Pennick; son, Charles Lawless; brother, John "JT" Jones; and his grandmother, Agnes Back.

Visitation will be from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). A private family funeral service will be held at the funeral home.
