Mary Ruth (Daugherty) Williar

Mary Ruth (Daugherty) Williar, 74, a devoted wife and mother, of Corydon, Indiana, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025.

Born on June 10, 1951, in Whitley County, Kentucky, Mary was the daughter of Norman and Jewell (Cox) Daugherty. Mary’s dedication extended beyond her home, where she made her mark as a longtime volunteer at Our Father Provides. Her generous heart was also reflected in her active membership at Trinity Assembly of God Church in Corydon, where she found friendship and strengthened her faith.

Preceding her in death were her son, Jeffery Williar, and her parents. She is survived by her loving husband of over 54 years, Kermit Williar; her son, Timothy Williar; and her sister, Margaret Oakes, as well as many extended family members and friends who will remember her fondly.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions located at 3309 Ballard Lane in New Albany. Visitation will resume on Monday starting at 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mary will be laid to rest at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
