Mary L. Wheatley, 68, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2017. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky on December 31, 1948 to the late Robert and Willie Mae Brown. She was childcare worker at Advanced Learning Center.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Brown; father of her children, Kenneth Close; three brothers, James Brown, Melvin Brown and Earl Brown and a sister, Doris Curry.

Mary is survived by her two sons, James (Connie) Close, Sr. and Robert (Lauren) Close; grandchildren, James Close Jr., Courtney Close, Tyler Close, Ray Close and Juliette Close; one great-granddaughter, Carmyn Close; two sister, Wilma Johnson and Norma Woods; two brothers, Jack Brown and Michael Brown; and a host of other family members and friends.

Memorial Service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, Kentucky 40272. Visitation will be from 10-1 on Saturday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy are suggested to the family to assist with funeral arrangements.
