Mary Jo Thieneman, 86, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021.

She was born on July 30, 1934 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Eugene and Marie (Haeher) Lichtefeld, Sr. She is preceded in death by her husband Earl Thieneman and siblings Ida Marie Stinson and Eugene Lichtefeld, Jr.

Mary Jo and her husband Earl owned and operated Earl Thieneman's Greenhouses since 1967 and were founding members of St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Mary Jo is survived by her nephews, Lee Stinson (Madonna), Michael Stinson (Kelly), Eugene Lichtefeld, III (Tina), Glen Lichtefeld (Jenn), nieces Becky Jo Stinson, Stacey Marie McDaniel, Jennifer McGlynn (Eddie). She is also survived by a host of relatives from the Thieneman family.

Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the time of Mass at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at St. Patrick Catholic Church (1000 N Beckley Station Rd, Louisville, KY 40245) with burial to follow at St. Michael's Cemetery.

The family requests that contributions in Mary Jo's memory be made to Hosparus of Louisville and/or The Wounded Warrior Project.
