Mary L. Stiller, a beloved matriarch, passed away at the age of 97 on November 28, 2025, in New Albany, Indiana. Born on August 17, 1928, in Clark County, Indiana, she lived a life dedicated to her family and community.
Mary devoted over 15 years of her professional life to General Electric, contributing her skills and perseverance to the production line. However, her true passion lay in her family and the relationships she nurtured throughout her life. She was known for her kind heart and her immense love for children, always caring and providing for those around her.
An avid gardener and seamstress when she was younger, Mary found joy in creating beauty both in her home and in the lives of those she loved. Her greatest pride was being a grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. The time she spent with her grandchildren was truly the highlight of her life, and she cherished every moment shared with them.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Karen (Bruce) Nethery; son, Robert (Connie) Stiller; grandchildren, Deric Stiller and Chris (Tiffany) Nolot; great grandchildren, Cody, Brady, and Brooklynn; three great great grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Stiller; her parents, Theodore and Leona Rake; and her siblings.
Visitation services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Ln, New Albany, IN 47150, on Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. A Mass will follow on Friday, December 5, 2025, at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church, 5719 St. Mary's Road, Floyds Knobs, IN 47119, beginning at 1:30 PM. Burial will follow at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Cemetery.
Mary L. Stiller will be remembered for her warm spirit, dedication to her family, and the love she spread throughout her life. Her legacy will continue to be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
