Mary "Lou" Smith

Mary "Lou" Smith, 60, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. Lou was a very outgoing person, she loved camping, fishing, kids, cooking, and most of all loved spending time with her family. She was a fighter overcoming lung cancer. She was a loyal employee to NPC for 22 years. Lou will truly be missed by anyone and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She was born on December 7, 1963 in Louisville, Kentucky to Lonzie and Frances (McGilvary) Newton. She is preceded in death by her Father, Lonzie Newton.

Lou is survived by her loving Husband of 37 years (45 years together), Husband, Scottie Smith; Mother, Frances Newton; Son, Brandon Smith; Daughter, Megan (Chevy) Harper; Bonus Daughter, Cathy Barrett; Grandchildren, Hunter Smith and Quinn Harper; Bonus Granddaughter, Tamberley Barrett; Brother, Gerald (Lora) Newton; Sisters-In-Law, Tammy Ennis and Patsy (Steve) Fitzpatrick, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Celebration of Life Service will be at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel.
