Mary Elizabeth "Bette" (Troxel) Sellmer, 77, of Clarksville, Indiana passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2014.

Bette was born in Jeffersonville, Indiana on July 14, 1937 to the late James E. Troxel & Mary Alice (Holland) Thornton. She was a life-member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, Senator #61305, a past State Chaplain of the Indiana Volunteer Fireman's Association Auxiliary, and retired from the Greater Clark County School System as a cafeteria manager after over 18 years of service. Bette attended Safe Harbor Christian Church in Memphis, Indiana.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Tom Sellmer, Sr.; 4 sons, Tom Jr. (Karen), Dale (Kelley), Keith, & Jim (Katie); 6 grandchildren, John (Reece), Nathan, Jill, Madilyn, Jordan,¬¬ & Catherine; and 3 great grandchildren.

A reception of family and friends will be held from 5 to 8 PM Friday, January 2, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with an IVFA & Auxiliary Service concluding the reception at 8:00 PM. Additional gathering time will be from 12 to 2 PM on Saturday, January 3 and her Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at 2 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made to Hosparus (PO Box 35425, Louisville, KY 40232) or WHAS Crusade for Children (520 West Chestnut Street).
