Mary Elizabeth (Weaver) Seligman, 90, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on January 23, 2021.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Belle Powell Weaver and Hollis Burton Weaver, and her siblings Virginia Alexander, Frances Dempsey, Katherine Drake, Charles Weaver, and Robert Weaver.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Heckel (Dan); son, Larry Seligman (Stephanie); stepdaughter Linda Kay Seligman-Turner (Larry); grandchildren Ben Heckel, Elizabeth Heckel (fiancé Tim Owen), Andrew Heckel, Jonathan Heckel, Christopher Heckel, Kathryn Seligman, and Samuel Seligman; step-granddaughter Nicole Curry (Ty); step-great-grandchildren Jake and Kendall Curry; former husband Arnold Seligman; and many nieces and nephews.
Originally from Glasgow, Kentucky, she graduated from Shawnee High School in Louisville and had many different jobs throughout her life, including model, secretary, bookkeeper, tax preparer, real estate broker, house remodeler, baker, cake decorator, and business owner. She had her real estate broker's license for more than 50 years. She will always be remembered for her love for her family and friends and for her unwavering faith in Jesus as the source of her hope and happiness.
Visitation will be on Saturday, February 6, 2021 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at Newcomer, East Louisville Chapel (235 Juneau Drive). Her funeral service will be that day at 10:00 am at the funeral home with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
