Mary Elizabeth Prince, 77, of Campbellsville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021.
She was born on January 11, 1944 in Louisville, Kentucky to Milton and Margaret (Van Cleave) Johnson.
Mary worked as a paralegal in Radcliff before marrying Terrance E. Prince in 1986. She became a social worker for the U.S. Army and the Marines, serving military families as a victim's advocate and helping families of children with special needs in Germany, Belgium, North Carolina, and California. In her last job before retirement in 2015, she supported the families of Army recruiters in Colorado, organizing activities like overnight retreats and karaoke parties. Mary and Gene retired to Campbellsville in 2016.
Mary was a devoted Christian and had a strong relationship with her church in North Carolina.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Coleman Todd Fluhr; brother Raymond Johnson; and sisters, Patricia and Anita Johnson.
Mary is survived by her husband, SFC. (Ret.) Terrance E. Prince; daughter, Tracy Michelle Fluhr; son, C. Troy Fluhr (Tara Beiter-Fluhr); brothers, Milton "Dickie" Johnson (Sharon) and Clifford Stephen "Steve" Johnson; sister, Susan Marie "Suzy" Knight (David); ex-husband Walter Raymond "Sonny" Fluhr; 7 grandchildren: Courtenay Fluhr, Faith Reynolds (David), Hope Fluhr, Alexander Fluhr, Nicholas Fluhr, Taran Fluhr, and Victor Fluhr; and 5 great-grandchildren: Isaiah Reynolds, Isis Vititoe (Brayden), Shai Reynolds, Zyia Reynolds, and Kokoa Reynolds; and many extended family members and friends.
Visitation and funeral service will be from 11:00 am to 11:50 am on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Lake View Chapel in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitors must meet at the Grinstead Drive entrance (2395 Cave Hill Rd, Louisville, KY 40204) by 10:45 am to be led to the site.
