Mary Patricia (Patty) Pfister, 66, of Georgetown, IN went home to her heavenly Father on August 21. Born on September 17, 1959 in Louisville, KY, the family moved to Indiana where she graduated from Lanesville High School. Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Elizabeth Pfister and brothers Charles and Robert Pfister. She is survived by her daughter Shannon Nicole McGraw, her sisters Teresa Pittman, Louise Richmer (Denny), Janet Hamilton (Bob), and brother James Pfister (Adam Stone) as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Throughout her career, she worked at several jobs in Arizona, Texas and Florida before returning to Indiana, where she attended Indiana University. Patty was known for being a dedicated worker, spending most of her career in bookkeeping, finance and taxes in Southern Indiana. Most recently, she was a volunteer at the Friends of the Floyd County Public Library, LifeWise Academy and Forward Church, where she enjoyed attending services, bible study classes and volunteering with children.
Patty was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and hobbyist who enjoyed sewing, gardening, and reading scripture. She was a talented cook and animal lover who cared for many beloved cats and dogs during her lifetime.
A visitation in honor of Patty will take place on Saturday August 29th, from 12 PM to 4 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN 47150. Memorial Service will begin at 4 PM.
