Mary Marilla (Howe) Moerer

Mary"Rilla" (Howe) Moerer, 79, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2019. She was a founding member of Return Church in Clarksville. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Rilla was a light and comfort to all who knew her. Her sassy spirit brought joy to her family and friends. Rilla will be missed by so many who call her "mom," as she loved and cared deeply without limit.

She was born on January 10, 1940 to the late Harold and Vivian (McIntyre) Howe. Rilla was also preceded in death by her previous husband, Donald L. Harris, Sr.; brothers, Raymond and Richard Howe; and son-in-law, Danny Brantley.

Rilla is survived by her loving husband, Howard Moerer; children, Deborah Brantley, Donald Harris, Jr. (Renee), David Harris (Karen), Daniel Harris (Diane), Darren Harris (Elene), Deborah Moerer, Rebecca Thompson (Jimmy), Charles Moerer (Lisa); 31 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Thursday after 9:30 a.m. at Return Church (435 Eastern Boulevard, Clarksville). Her funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the church with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
