Mary Katherine McKinley

Mary Katherine (Smith) McKinley, 73, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025. She was born in Jeffersonville, Indiana, on January 22, 1952. Mary attended and went on to graduate from New Albany High School in 1972.

In 1975 she married Michael McKinley, and together they were blessed with two beautiful children, Melissa and Bryan. Mary was a lifelong Catholic with a strong devotion to the Blessed Mother and Sacred Heart of Jesus. She was a member of St. John Paul II Catholic Church in Sellersburg.

Mary was preceded into eternal life by her husband, Michael; parents, Robert and Ruth Anne Smith; sisters, Debbie Drechsel, Theresa Loftus, Corlis Turner, Bobbi Kirchgessner, and Virginia Burton; and brothers, Larry Smith and Charlie Smith. She is survived by children, Melissa Callahan (John) and Bryan McKinley (Karen); grandchildren, Samantha, Aedan, and Dawson; siblings, Mark (Stephanie) and Colleen (Donald); as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:30 pm on Saturday at St. John Paul II Catholic Church - St. Joe Hill Chapel (2605 W. St. Joe Road, Sellersburg) with entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
