1939 - 2019
Mary Donna Logsdon, 79, passed away on February 21, 2019. Mary was of the Catholic faith with a great love in her heart. She opened her home to many friends and family and would give freely to anyone in need, expecting nothing in return. She had no less love for animals, especially her dogs, and enjoyed singing and playing the organ and accordion. Never one to shy away from hard work, she held positions with Krispy Kreme, Brickyard, Cardinal Aluminum, and Executive Inns East and West, just to name a few.
She was the daughter of the late James Parle and Dorothy Augustine. Mary was preceded in death by her husband John W. Wheeler, son Thomas Wheeler, and sisters June Casey (Ike) and Ida Zeller (Charles). She leaves behind sons John "Buddy" Wheeler Jr. (Robin), and Gary Wheeler, daughters Donna Rose Short (Dale), Anita Stillwell (Dennis), Victoria Hardin (Kevin), and Connie M. Keenan, Brother Roy Parle (Hazel), and sisters Nola Mattingly Gaus (Lamar), and Mae Farrow (Harold), 25 Grandchildren, 39 Great Grandchildren, 13 Great-Great Grandchildren, and 3 Great-Great-Great Grandchildren. A wonderful step father to Mary's children, Walter Logsdon. Libby Stearman, Rosalie Eddington, and Virginia McKinney were just a few of Mary's best friends and Jenny Lynn Burkhead who was like a daughter to Mary.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 4pm-8pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Hwy. Louisville, KY.
The funeral service will take place at 10am on Friday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
