Mary Christina (Summers) Linton, 87, of Georgetown, Indiana died on Wednesday, June 29, 2016. She was a professional hairdresser who operated Mary's House of Hair & Wig out of her home for many years. She also owned & operated Vogue Beauty Shop in Clarksville. Mary was skilled at crocheting, embroidery and any type of needlework. She was a long time member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Georgetown, IN. Above all of that, Mary's true love was for her family.
Mary was born in Alton, IN on March 25, 1929 to the late Perry V. & Mattie J. (Wathen) Summers.
She is survived by her children, Vercel Ray Linton (Patty), Karen Conrad (Gene), Bruce Linton (Gail), and Tony Linton (Melissa); sister, Geneva Hammond; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Vercel Elwood Linton; sons, Michael Linton & Neal Linton; siblings, Elmer Summers & Emily Manship; granddaughter, Jennifer Linton.
Visitation will be from 1 PM to 8 PM Friday, July 1, 2016, and 9 to 11 AM on Saturday at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 AM with burial to follow at Marengo Cemetery.
