Mary A. Lenz, born on June 27, 1953, in New Albany, Indiana, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky. She left this world surrounded by her devoted family, whose lives she cherished above all else.
Mary was a dedicated laborer for Graphic Packaging Company, demonstrating her hard work and commitment throughout her career. She embodied the qualities of loyalty and compassion in all facets of her life. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a proud grandmother, blessed with the privilege of watching her family grow and thrive. Her dedication to her loved ones was unwavering, always ensuring that holidays, birthdays, and family gatherings were filled with love and special memories.
She found great joy in simple pleasures, such as cooking out with her family on sunny summer days, dancing to lively music, and sharing moments of laughter with those she cared for. Mary’s personality was infused with honesty and warmth, drawing people to her nurturing spirit. She was not only a sister and friend but a pillar of support and love for all who knew her.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Etta White and Christina (Don) Cochran, and her daughter, Patricia Lenz. She was a proud grandmother to Stephanie Masterson and to grandsons Micheal (Cheyenne) Cochran and Johnny Lenz. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Krystina Allen, Bryson Cain, and Jax Springer. She is also survived by her beloved sisters, Jan Swanger and Carol Hockenberry, her brother-in-law Carl Lenz, and sister-in-law Brenda Lenz, along with many loving nieces, nephews, friends, and cherished family members.
Mary is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Johnny Lenz, and her parents, Effie Pauline Johnson and Amzi Andrew Johnson. Her loving spirit and treasured presence will be profoundly missed.
Visitation will be held on January 19, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Ln, New Albany, IN. A funeral service will take place the following day, January 20, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the same location, followed by a burial at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park where she will rest alongside loved ones.
