Mary Elizabeth McAlister Henry, 99, of New Albany, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 10, 2019. She was a strong woman of faith who loved her family dearly. Mary was a member of Calvary Apostolic Church in Jeffersonville.
She was born on June 3, 1920, in Scioto County, Ohio, to the late Buford and Elizabeth Dixon McAlister. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. Henry; son, Stephen Henry; brothers, Roy, Forrest, and Ralph McAlister; and sisters, Garnet Moore and Nell Hickman.
Mary is survived by her children, James Henry, David (Suzanne) Henry, and Patty (Dana) Henry; 6 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Friendship Cemetery in Scioto County, Ohio.
