Mary Augusta (Hauser) Hagedorn, 95, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.
Born on November 11, 1930, Mary was the daughter of Arthur and Catherine (Peter) Hauser. On November 23, 1950, she married her husband, Raymond Hagedorn. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared many happy years enjoying travel and square dancing. Mary was a talented seamstress who also found great joy in baking and cooking for her family. She loved spending time visiting with family and friends and was a longtime member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
Mary’s life was deeply rooted in family. She is survived by her sons, Joseph Hagedorn (Linda) and Ronald Hagedorn (Sondra); her daughters, Debra Huber (Gary), Denise Batliner (Thomas), and Cheryl Pearce (Paul); and her daughter-in-law, Carol Ann. She also leaves behind 19 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Her family will continue to cherish the warmth of her love, the care she showed, and the joy she found in simply being together.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Hagedorn; her sons, Eugene Hagedorn and Roger Hagedorn; her granddaughter, Krista Hagedorn; her brothers, Hubert, Cyril, Lloyd, and Earl; and her sisters, Regina and Roberta.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, 2026 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and continue on Monday morning at 8:30 a.m. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 28, 2026 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church (1752 Scheller Lane, New Albany) with entombment to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mary's memory may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery for perpetual care or to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
