Mary Grose

Mary Elizabeth (Matherly) Grose, 87, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, February 17, 2013 in Jeffersonville, Indiana.

Mary was born on February 24, 1925 in Leavenworth, Indiana to the late Dave & Katie (Borden) Matherly. She gave her life to Christ at Hope Community Church of God in Clarksville, Indiana where she spent many years as a member. Mary loved to read but her greatest love was her family and the time she spent with them.

She is survived by her children, Kathy Crawford (Ron), Delores Carpenter, David Floyd, Paul Floyd (Cathy), Danny Floyd, Billy Floyd (Debbie), Marquita Fabbri, & Glenna Knope (Greg); sister, Gladys Steele; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; & 6 great-great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her grandson, Devin Floyd; brothers, Gerald, Martin, Clay, Bill, & Marion Matherly; sisters, Myrtle Watson, Margaret Deschwanden, & Irma Boone.

Visitation will be from 2 PM to 7 PM on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Thursday from 11 AM to 1 PM. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday at 1 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home with burial to follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Leavenworth, Indiana.
