Mary Ann Grider

Mary Ann Grider, aged 52, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, passed away on November 7, 2025. A cherished mother, memaw, daughter, sister, and friend, Mary Ann had a vibrant spirit that touched the lives of those around her. She found immense joy in spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren. Mary Ann adored playing BINGO, enjoyed roller skating, and famously danced on her skates. An avid supporter of the University of Louisville, she was affectionately known as "Monkey" by her family.

Born on June 29, 1973, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Sydney and Helen (Gibbs) Grider, Mary is survived by her loving father, Sydney James Grider; her mother, Helen Jane (James McGrew) Saltz; her daughter, Heather Jane (Tyler) Poindexter; and her grandchildren, Chelsea Greyhawk and William Grider-Tindal. She leaves behind her siblings: Patty Dolan, and Sydney (Mandy) Grider, Jr., as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel located at 10304 Dixie Highway. A funeral service will follow at 1:30 PM at the same location, with burial to take place at Resthaven Memorial Park in Louisville, Kentucky.
