Listen to Obituary

Mary Dianne (Shelburne) Gossett, 84, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. While her passing leaves a deep void, her family finds peace and comfort in knowing the depth of her love for Jesus and the promise of eternal life.

Dianne was born on March 7, 1942, in Paris, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Edward Shelburne Jr. and Mary Genevieve Shelburne; her faithful and devoted husband of nearly 58 years, Harbourt Lee Gossett Sr.; her brothers, Harold Shelburne and James Edward Shelburne III; and her sisters, Genevieve Minor, Jane Sharon, Helen Downing, and Emma Jean Patton.

She and Harbourt were married on December 28, 1963, and shared a lifetime of love, faith, and devotion.

Dianne was a kind and gracious woman whose positivity and encouragement touched everyone she met. She lived a simple life centered on her faith, her family, and serving others. She faithfully worked as an X-ray Technologist for many years and retired from Baptist Hospital East as the head of the Mammography Department. Throughout her career, she cared for countless patients with compassion and excellence.

Above all else, Dianne loved Jesus. Her faith was evident in the way she lived each day, and those who knew her understood how deeply she trusted the Lord. Through life's greatest challenges, she demonstrated strength, determination, and a joyful spirit that inspired those around her. Her legacy of faith, kindness, and perseverance will continue to influence generations to come.

She is lovingly remembered by her three children: Lee Gossett (Karen), Tammy Levenhagen (Matt), and Neal Gossett (Kim); her eight grandchildren: Taylor Brantley, Mac Wortham (Rachel), Taylor Wortham, Isabella Levenhagen, Charlotte Levenhagen, Carter Gossett (Alyssa), Renee Hume (Kyle), and Brady Gossett; and her three great-grandchildren: Wyatt Wortham, Jack Wortham, and Ivy Gossett. Though her family grieves her absence, they rejoice in the assurance that Dianne has heard the words of her Savior: "Well done, good and faithful servant." Matthew 25:23

The family will be holding a private ceremony at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to the church of your choice in memory of Dianne Gossett.
