Mary Elizabeth Gibson, 67, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016. She was born in Kingston, West Virginia on May 20, 1949 to the late Calvin and Gertrude Foley. She was a member of Faith Chapel Baptist Church and loved gospel music.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, George Henry Gibson, Jr., and a sister, Sue Mudd.

Mary is survived by her two daughters, Christina (Dereck) Hamilton and Melanie (Jeremy) Snyder; grandchildren, D.J., Darren and Cammy McCluskey, Hallee and Wyatt Hamilton, Xavier Snyder, Jordan Gibson and Gavin Snyder; one great-granddaughter, Raelynn Snyder; two sisters, Carolyn "Faye" Wirth and Janice Crews; and a host of other family members and friends.

A service to celebrate her life will be 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. till service time on Thursday both at the funeral home.
