Mary Louise Garnett

Mary Louise Garnett, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021. Mary attended Mt Zion Baptist Church, and was an usher for many years. Mary worked for the Tarc Bus System for many years until her retirement in 2007. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Mary loved to cook and make dinners for anyone who would stop by. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She was born on February 17, in Louisville, Kentucky to Eugene and Dorothy (Watson) Collier. She is preceded in death by her Parents, Brothers, Raydale Collier, and Robert Jean Collier, and Sister Shirley Collier.

Mary is survived by her loving Husband Robert Thornton, Son, William (Bonnie) Collier, Son, Michael Thornton, Son, Robert Thornton, Daughter, Geronda Thornton, Son, Darryl Collier, Daughter, Tawanda (Donte) Thornton-Jones, and Daughter, Temeka Yelder, Brother, Paul Collier, and Sister, Ernestine Wakefield. Mary also leaves behind to cherish her memory a host of Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Friends, Church Family, and Extended Family.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Green Meadows Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
