Mary Catherine Fisher, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on May 18, 2026, in Dickson, Tennessee. Born on September 15, 1933, in Louisville, Kentucky, Mary lived a life marked by love, strength, and a profound appreciation for the simple joys that life offers.
Those who knew Mary cherished her deep devotion to family and her unwavering spirit. She was a woman who found true happiness tending to her garden and spending time outdoors, reveling in the beauty of nature. Travel also brought her great pleasure whenever the opportunity arose, enriching her spirit and broadening her horizons. Known for her headstrong determination at times, she balanced this with a gentle heart and generosity that touched the lives of all around her.
Mary’s family was central to her life. She shared 59 years of marriage with her loving husband, Patrick Fisher. Together, they built a life full of memories and lasting bonds. Children, Mary Blanche Cole, Arthur W. "Billy" Hibdon, Rick (Sue) Fisher, and Janet (Phillip) Hooper, along with ten grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter, carry forward her legacy of love and strength.
Mary was also a sister to Nancy Hudson, Wanda (Larry) Kimbler, Carolyn Walker and sister in-law, Norma Walker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clingman and Anna Mae Walker, her mother, Blanche Walker, and her beloved siblings and in-laws: Harold Walker, Patsy Walker, LeRoy Walker, Phylis Walker, Bernice Meenach, Boss Meenach, James Walker, Albert Givans, and her aunt Nancy "Nannie" Walker.
The family warmly invites all who knew Mary to gather in remembrance and celebration of her life during the visitation at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28th , from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and continues on Friday, May 29th from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. The funeral service will follow on Friday at 11:00 AM, at the same location. She will be laid to rest at Bethany Memorial Cemetery.
Mary Catherine Fisher’s journey on earth may have concluded, but her spirit, resilience, and love remain alive in the hearts of all whose lives she touched. Her warmth and unwavering dedication will be remembered and cherished, as the family finds comfort in the legacy she leaves behind.
